Gone Fishing

Gone Fishing! Central Fisheries Board, CFB, Ireland have created an excellent project where retired teacher Joe Dunphy visits primary schools to discuss fishing and the importance of conservation of fish stock. Mr. Dunphy spoke to the sixth class pupils of Holy Family BNS for close on two hours last Wednesday in the school’s library. It was a marvellous talk, which the children enjoyed thoroughly as it was engaging, interesting and relevant. They especially enjoyed viewing all the various rods, reels, tackles, baits and stories of the one that got away! Further details of this project may be viewed at
