Míle Buíochas

Holy Family BNS would like to thank following for all they did for the school in the past week. Firstly, there was a fantastic response to the school tidy up which was organised by the Green School’s Committee as part of the National Spring Clean. There was a brilliant turnout after school and fantastic work was done by parents, teachers and pupils in tidying up the school. On Wednesday 5th and 6th class had a very enjoyable day in Tullow taking part in the FAI inter schools soccer competition. In the clash of the top two teams Holy Family were one nil up with five minutes to go. However, Bishop Foley rose to the occasion and scored two great goals to win the tournament. Best of luck to the lads as they represent Carlow in the South Leinster Finals in Arklow.A special word of thanks to Gary Coady FAI development officer who ensured that it was brilliant day for all concerned. Third Class went to New Oak Community Centre where Sustainable Energy Ireland had organised a great large scale board game which the children enjoyed thoroughly. Second Class had a lovely day in the Carlow Library where Carmel Flavahan had organised art lessons and treats for the children. Finally fourth class went to Oakpark Research centre where they learned of the central role it’s weather station in recording Ireland’s weather. Mr John Hogan of Oakpark was just brilliant with the children. Míle Buíochas.
