Sports Day

We had two wonderful sports days. One for the Juniors and the other for Seniors. Sports day is built around full participation. The lads are divided into teams and each team has to complete specific tasks such as Keepy Uppy, Last Man Standing, Obstacle Race etc. Sixth class boys kept scores and gave extra marks for cheering! Great fun was had by all. Please visit our Sports Day 2012 page for tons of photos taken by the students themselves.

National Bike Week

Holy Family BNS were actively involved in National Bike Week. The children took part in a slow bike race which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. There was also an art poster competition where the children did brilliant posters promoting cycling to school. Finally, Holy Family BNS had a raffle for a super bike, the proceeds of which are going to charity. Prizes were given for the slow bicycle race and art poster competition. A grant was received from Carlow County Council and Co. Carlow Sports Partnership to cover the cost of the prizes. A fun week was certainly enjoyed by the children and on National Bike day, 36 bikes were parked outside the school despite the unpredictable weather.

IBM Robotics

Sixth Class pupils enjoyed their day as guests of IBM engineers. They had great fun creating robots and uploading programs to make the robots go! This day of engineering was organised in conjunction with Éigse Arts Festival.
