Literacy: Our recommended author this week is Shirley Hughes. She is fantastic writer and the children really enjoy her stories which are pre mobile phones! Be sure and look up other fantastic stories by Shirley Hughes on YouTube.

History: Be sure and learn more about the local history of Carlow. At the moment the old Technical School, beside Carlow IT,  has been demolished. Can you find out what building stood there previously? Hint: There is an old  graveyard to the back of the now demolished Technical school that has the answer.
