Awards Night 2011

Holy Family BNS Awards Ceremony. Thursday 23rd June.

A wonderful night of celebration, song and recognition of achievement was had in Holy Family BNS on Thursday last. The night consisted of three parts. Firstly the school choir performed “Whistle Down the Wind”, “Siyahamba”-accompanied by African drums and “Pie Jesu.”Then the award ceremony took place where twenty three boys were awarded certificates and medals for full attendance during the year. The football team received their medals and the sixth class boys who are graduating this year from the choir received their certificates. The following boys were awarded for academic achievement.Senior Award-1: Mathematics-Wyman Cheung 2:Gaeilge –Aodhán Ó Curraín. 3: English-Ferghal Kelly.Overall Academic AWard: 5th Class- Charlie Murphy. 4th Class Conor Byrne 3rd Class John Barrett Student of the Year 2011 Awards Room 13-Adam Nolan. Room Room 14-Dylan Brennan. Room 15- Nathan French. Room 16-Kyle O’Sullivan Room 17-Dario Noctor. Room 18- Dylan French Carroll.
There were six other awards for activities outside the main curricular areas. Dylan Dooley –Green School Award. Ciarán Murphy-Sports Award. Justin Brennan Dowling-Music Award. Anne McMahon Award-Adam Ralph. E.A.L. Award-Domantas Jagutis and finally, Exceptional Ability in an Academic Area- Tom Paegle.
Our school choirs then gave us a wonderful dramatic and musical performance of Oliver including the following songs. “Food Glorious Food”, “Where is Love?”, “Consider Yourself”, “Pick a Pocket” , “I’d do Anything” and “Be Back Soon.”
A wonderful night was had by children and parents alike. The achievements of our boys in so many aspects of academia, nature, music and sport are a great source of pride to Mrs Wall, Principal and staff. Thanks especially to Olivia Murphy, Olivia Geoghan, Fr. Liam Morgan, Eddie Sheehan and all the staff for their help on the night.
