Crazy Sock Day

As part of our Health Promoting Schools, we had a crazy sock day on Friday to mark World Mental Health Day. All children and staff were encouraged to wear odd or crazy socks to highlight the day. Míle Buíochas

PS Einstein refused to wear socks! Couldn’t stand them.

Quiz, Athletics, Gaeilge, Young Scientists and Maths Week!

Well done to our two quiz teams who took part in the Irish Quiz in Éire Óg. Out of thirty teams participating the boys finished in the top section. Quiz practice continues after school. Our athletes collected a large amount of medals in the Schools County Finals. Well done to their parents, trainers and teachers. We are developing a new online resource to promote the teaching of Irish. Feedback so far has been very positive. View Foclóir and Gaeilge Audio Books from menu above. We have submitted our application for the Young Scientists exhibition in Limerick in May. If we are successful, this will be our sixth time attending the Young Scientists. Finally preparations are underway for Maths Week Maths quizzes which are always a big hit with the children. Míle Buíochas.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

On Thursday September 20th Holy Family BNS hosted a Teddy Bears Picnic for Junior Infants, their teddy bears, their parents and grandparents. Everyone enjoyed reading their books and munching on some fresh fruit.
Thanks to everyone who helped on the day including 6th class boys who prepared all the fruit in the parents room kitchen.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone. We hope you all had a wonderful and happy summer. Everyone is settling in very quickly, especially our marvellous Junior Infants! More photos will be posted shortly!

Sports Day Winners

We had two fantastic sport days which the children enjoyed thoroughly. As the weather was so hot we ran both days in the morning before little break, We would especially like to thank the sixth class boys who helped out with the running of our sports day. They were so kind and enthusiastic with the younger children. Brilliant lads and they will just do fantastic in secondary school. Looking forward to seeing the lads drop in for a visit in their secondary school uniforms!!
