1st place in Tidy Towns 2017

Congratulations to our Green School’s Committee and everyone in the school who worked to hard to achieve 1st place in Carlow’s Tidy Town Competition. In addition to a wonderful plaque and a hundred euro cheque, the school was also awarded a Tidy Town’s Cup.

Well done also to our school quiz team, who came third out of twenty seven teams in the Irish Quiz held in Éire Óg. They were just two points behind the winners, Castledermot.
Well done everyone.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

The Junior Infants are settling in really well.  They are just fantastic! To welcome the children, a Teddy Bear’s Picnic was organised which the children enjoyed tremendously. See photos!

Well done to our Gaelic Football team with great victories over Bagnelstown and Tullow respectively. We will be starting a lunchtime hurling league next week. Gaelic Football coaching has also started. Active School’s Committee is just up and running. Just like our brilliant athletes who did so well in the County Athletic Finals at the Hurling Club. Please check out our Active School’s Blog for some great photos.

Our Book Boxes are going very well and will be rotated after Halloween. We have also taken delivery of two IZAK9 Math Boxes. These are the latest math’s aids for collaborative learning. Quiz Practice has resumed every Monday in the school’s computer room.  Many thanks to everyone who is supporting our Parent’s Council Raffle. Simply the best! Also, we hope to host an inter school’s FAI Futsal competition on our fantastic astro-pitch, for fourth class, in the near future. Míle Buíochas

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone. We hope you all had a wonderful summer. Our new astro turf is just fantastic and the children love playing on it. It is just brilliant and is constantly in use. Well done to our amazing parent’s council. They are just incredible.

We would especially like to welcome all our new students and especially our new Junior Infants. We hope to add additional photos over the coming days. Fáilte ar ais!

Have a Fantastic Summer.

We would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe Summer. Please have a look at our newsletter to see all the incredible activities that take place in our wonderful school.

Best wishes to all  our sixth class pupils who graduated this week. They are just just incredible and will be missed. See you all in September

Awards Ceremony

We had a very pleasant awards ceremony in our hall. In front of the entire school and invited guests and parents, the fantastic achievements, both academic and social, of the boys were acknowledged by both staff, Board of Management and Principal Mrs Kelly. Well done everyone!

Mrs. Wall’s Quiz Cup and Medals

We were especially pleased to welcome former Principal Mrs Wall back to present medals to all the boys who have worked so hard at learning their quiz questions. Mrs Wall also presented both a Junior and Senior Cup to both our school quiz teams. Well done to all involved.

Lord Mayor’s Visit

We were delighted with the  visit of former pupil Fintan Phelan to our school. It was the last day of his year as Lord Mayor. He wished our hurling Division 1 finalists all the best in their Hurling Final. Fintan’s visit was also during our annual school fete, which was an outstanding success. This is due in no small part to our brilliant Parent’s Council. Well done everyone!
