Cullahill

Ms. Spencer’s 6th class had a glorious day yesterday for their trip to Cullahill. Thanks to their local guide Vincent O’Sullivan for bringing them on an 8.5km guided walk of Cullahill (originally Cullohill Mts.). Some of the highlights included drinking fresh ice cold water from a well and testing for water using a hazel branch. They saw a Fulacht Fiadh, a fairy fort/ring, and lots of wildlife including a frog. They heard some wonderful stories from the past and got to see where Fionn the giant lay and the mould of his body which is still visible. Thanks to Ms. Spencer and Mrs. Kelly for accompanying them.

Green Schools News

Our green schools committee have been very hard at work updating our Green Schools notice board and creating a sensory garden for all our students to enjoy. They also ensured that our plants were kept watered during our mid-term break by designing and installing an automatic watering system for our plants. There was great excitement to discover some birds nesting in a tree in our top courtyard. Well done to all the students and teachers involved with our green schools committee.

Hurling

Hard Luck to our school hurling team who reached the semi-final of the Cumann na mBunscol hurling competition and were beaten by Tullow B.N.S.. They had beaten Ballon, Bishop Foley and the Gaelscoil to top their group and reach the semi-final stage. Well done boys, we are very proud of you!
